Self-deception is like a drug ⚡

We deceive ourselves so often. And there's a strange sweetness to this deception.
You say, "I'm strong," but you're afraid of silence. "I'm independent," but you check your phone every five minutes. "I'm in control," but your heart beats faster when someone even appears in your thoughts.
Self-deception isn't lying to others. It's a way to not feel pain completely, to avoid facing the truth. It allows you to live peacefully, but at the same time, it leaves a void that nothing can fill.
And here's the paradox: the longer you deceive yourself, the stronger your addiction to what you're trying to ignore becomes. It's like a drug that doesn't leave scars on the outside, but eats you up from the inside.
We seek out emotions that frighten us and fear those that save us. Self-deception turns fear into a habit, and a habit into a chain from which it's terrifying to break.
