☕ Girls, you know that music is my passion. So, after moving to Spain, the first thing I did was… buy a used digital piano. Carrying it to the beach at sunset to catch some inspiration became my signature thing. And one evening, I was engrossed in playing Chopin right there on the rocky shore of Torrevieja.

Suddenly, I heard a strange rustling in the nearby bushes. I was frightened, thinking it was a stray dog. I stepped closer—and there lay a man in an expensive but terribly soiled suit, clutching his ankle. It turned out to be a respectable Belgian named José (or rather, Jean-Pierre) who had gone for a walk, stumbled on the rocks, twisted his ankle, and lost his phone. He had been lying there for two hours... listening to me play! Jean-Pierre admitted that my music had literally saved him from panic. In the end, I—a petite blonde—dragged this two-meter-tall Belgian to my car and then served him my signature borscht in my kitchen (he still considers it the pinnacle of culinary art). So much for a romantic étude!

How I "stole" a boat to save a flamingo
"Everyone knows our famous pink lagoons in Torrevieja. I often go there for walks to be alone with my thoughts. One day, I noticed a handsome young flamingo with its wing tangled in a discarded fishing net out in the deeper water. It was heartbreaking, but I couldn't swim out to it—I’d only scare the bird away, and the water was deep, too.

A small motorboat was moored nearby, its owner having stepped away to a café. Girls, my inner Amazon suddenly kicked in! Remembering how my dad had taught me to handle a boat motor in my youth, I jumped behind the wheel without asking, fired up the vessel, and sped toward the bird. I cut the netting with my manicure scissors and the flamingo flew off, but back on shore, the furious boat owner and the police were already waiting for me. Yet, when I explained—tears in my eyes and the scraps of netting still in my hands—that I had been saving the city’s symbol, the owner (who turned out to be a local eco-activist) softened his stance. I didn't get slapped with a fine; instead, that "aggrieved party" spent ages trying to invite me to dinner at the best seafood restaurant in town!
