And what are men even for here?
Every woman dreams of simple happiness—not a castle by the sea or a prince on a white horse. Although, to be honest, a man without a horse would do just fine, too—the main thing is that he has a good head on his shoulders, a heart, and serious intentions.
Then one day, I decided: "Why not give a dating site a try? Who knows—maybe the man I’m looking for is right here, someone who’s also tired of casual encounters and finally wants something real?"
Naive? Perhaps.
Because I quickly discovered that men come here with vastly different agendas.
One is looking for a "woman to chat with"—though, for some reason, the conversation kicks off with photos like "me and my bare chest—guess where I am."
Another writes: "Let's keep it expectation-free." Sure! It’s especially convenient: when nothing is expected of a man, he doesn't have to make any effort.
The third one honestly states: "I’m not ready for a serious relationship yet." And he is, perhaps, the most honest man on the site. But a small question arises: if you aren't ready, why go to a place where people actually meet to find one another?
Then another one pops up: "Hi, beautiful. What are you looking for?"
That makes me stop and think.
What, exactly, are men looking for here?
A woman who will understand, support, and inspire them; cook delicious meals; look good; not ask unnecessary questions; and—ideally—have no desires of her own at all?
Or is it, after all, someone you want to wake up next to—not just after a great date, but years down the line?
She isn’t looking for a perfect man. She realized long ago that "perfect" men exist only until the first time you go shopping together.
She is looking for a mature man. Someone who isn’t afraid of words like "relationship," "responsibility," "fidelity," or "let’s build something together."
Someone who understands that a family isn’t a place where a woman waits on a man, but a partnership between two people who are happy together.
That’s why, for every woman here, there is really only one question for men.
Actually, no... make that two.
Did you really come here to meet a woman for a long-term relationship—or just to see how many women are still willing to spend their time on you?
...still believes in marital happiness.
It’s just that she reads between the lines more carefully now. Because sometimes, a nice "Hi, how are you?" hides a great deal. Especially a lack of serious intentions.
