Spring in Ukraine

At last, the real spring has come to Ukraine. I do not mean the date on the calendar, I'm talking about warm weather and burgeoning nature. Together with the long-awaited spring, we are waiting for the most important Christian holiday, Easter. Do you want to get acquainted with the Christian traditions of celebrating this day? On Easter Sunday, people attend church, where the priest blesses Easter cakes and eggs. Only after church the family gathers at a rich festive table, they help themselves to Easter cakes, and children play with painted eggs. All congratulate each other, kiss, say: "Christ is risen" and hear in response: "Truly risen!".

And the tradition has gone from here: on Easter, Mary Magdalene came to the Roman emperor Tiberius with the good news: “Christ is risen!” She said and presented a chicken egg to the emperor.
The emperor laughed and said that the egg would soon turn red than he would believe. And in front of the amazed public, the white egg in the hands of Mary Magdalene turned red! When Tiberius saw this, he was amazed and answered: "Truly resurrected!"
Ever since the tradition of painting eggs red and greeting each other has arisen.
