Do you know why the night between the 6th and 7th of July is special ? Why is this night so mysterious in Ukraine and why the girls make lovely flowery wreaths and throw them onto the river ?....That is because it is a special holiday in Ukraine that is called IVANA KUPALA. Strange name of the holiday ? Oh yes ) I agree ) But one of the main traditions of this holiday is connected with the girl and the divination about her fate. Do you want to know how it happens? I will share this story with you.
Well, in the evening on the 6th of June, the girls make the wreaths from field grass and flowers and then they throw these wreaths on the water. If the wreath sinks – the girl will be alone, if the wreath doesn’t sink and moves forward and smoothly that means that the girl will get married very soon )))) and I did this yesterday ! I also made a lovely wreath and threw it on the lake with the swans… we have such lovely lake in our city and it was a miracle ! My wreath was floating on the water surface and didn’t sink. I was so happy to see this ! That means that very soon in my life I will meet a man who will tell me all those pleasant words that every woman wants to hear in her life , the proposal to get married !
Maybe you think that such predictions are stupid things and you don’t believe in them . But it is just a good tradition in my country and the holiday of Ivana Kupala has a lot of other interesting legends and interesting stories. So if you want I can tell you other details of this mysterious celebrations.
And this year…. This year I will hope that very soon in my life something will be changed for better and I will not be lonely and my wreath will be found by a good man who will accept me as his woman !
Are you that man ?
