Passion or love?

Love is like a steady feeling. It stays so, neither periodic nor gets spent to recur only occasionally. Love can be towards anything or anybody while passion is towards the opposite sex (usually).
Passion may spend itself with just one coitus and it recurs periodically like hunger or the need to sleep. That way, desire is more a physical need while love is emotional need.
The sure test to find the difference is, how the couple feel towards each other after making love. Suppose you feel tender towards your spouse occasionally and it ebbs after sex? Then passion is the dominant element here.In an ancient Hindu scripture, the disciple asks his Guru, “How intimately the devotee should know his god?”. Guru answers, “as much as a person knows their spouse”. This should tell you what love means.
